Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Leadership and Management: Degree Overview

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration program with an emphasis in Leadership and Management at Warner Pacific University (WPU) can help you develop your skills in strategic leadership and analytical decision-making to be able to effectively manage teams and drive business performance in any industry.

The BS in Business Administration program is also available with emphasis areas in Healthcare Administration, Human Resource Management, and Entrepreneurship. Working adult learners with some college experience may want to consider the Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Business Administration program, which has online and hybrid format options.

Balancing instruction in business theories with practical, hands-on experiences, WPU’s BS in Business Administration program with an emphasis in Leadership and Management covers key business topics in areas such as economics, employment law, and ethics, as well as core leadership and management concepts in fields that include managerial accounting, global business, and strategic management.

Upon successful completion of the bachelor’s in leadership and management program, graduates will demonstrate:

  • Effective leadership and team-oriented capabilities
  • Proficiency in the basic theories associated with management and leadership, such as those related to organizational theory and operations management

What Can You Do With a Bachelor’s in Leadership and Management?

Earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration that emphasizes leadership and management skills can position you for a number of professional roles that have responsibilities such as leading teams, coordinating projects, and supervising operations in a wide range of industries.

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Leadership and Management, Curriculum

The BS in Business Administration, Leadership and Management, curriculum includes six prerequisite course credits, 30 major course credits, and 18 emphasis course credits. Of the 54 total required credits, 22 credits must be completed in residence at WPU, and 28 credits must be in upper-division courses. 

In order to earn a BS in Business Administration, Leadership and Management, at WPU, you need to do the following:

  • Complete all major course requirements and general education core course requirements with grades of at least C- in each course.
  • Complete a total of 120 credits, including at least 40 upper-division credits (300-level and 400-level courses).
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.

What’s the policy about residential Guests and visitation?

To assist with contact tracing and reduce the spread of COVID-19, only residents of a residence hall are allowed in the building. External visitors are not allowed in campus housing. Apartment residents may invite another student into their unit with the permission of their suitemate if they have one. Residence hall residents may have one resident from their floor or wing in their room at a time.  WPU is creating outdoor spaces where residents may meet other students if desired.

When and how do I obtain a parking pass?

We have moved to an online vehicle registration/parking pass order form for the Fall semester.  Students will pick up their parking pass at the Student Life Center when they arrive on campus.

When can I file my FAFSA?

A new FAFSA is available each year on Oct. 1.

When do I receive my financial aid?

Generally, funds are scheduled to disburse to the school on the third week of the first class in a semester in the Professional and Graduate Studies program. Funds are disbursed to the school on the first day of the semester in the Traditional undergraduate program. Prior to disbursement, attendance must be confirmed. In addition, a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling must be completed at https://studentaid.gov

It may take up to 5 business days for Warner Pacific to receive the funds and post them to WPU student accounts. If you have more than enough funding for the tuition and book costs in a given semester, the school has up to 14 days from the date of disbursement to process any refund to you. For questions or concerns about a disbursement, balance, or expected refund, please contact Student Financial Services at 503.517.1091.

When is the BSN Degree Program application deadline?

For Fall Admission: April 15 and for Spring Admission: October 15

When is the dining hall open?

The dining hall is open daily. On weekdays the dining hall opens between 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 am for breakfast; from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. for lunch; and 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. for dinner. On the weekends or days when the campus is closed (such as President’s Day Holiday, etc.), the dining hall is open for brunch from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m., and for dinner from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

When is the Library open?

During the school year, the Library is open Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., but closed during chapel hours on Tuesday and Thursday (from 10:00 a.m. – 11-00 a.m.). On Friday, the Library closes at 6:00 pm. The Library is also closed during the weekend, except during finals week

You can view basic information about your total aid amount at Warner Pacific on your FA Self-Serve home page –http://mywp.warnerpacific.edu/. However, the best place to access that information is by visiting the Student Aid Dashboard at https://studentaid.gov/dashboard/.

This is the US Department of Education’s central portal for student aid that displays information on loan and/or grant amounts, helping you keep track of loan debt as well as outstanding balances, loan statuses, disbursements, and contact information for your Federal Stafford Direct Loan Servicer(s).

Where can I hang out with my friends after visiting hours are over?

There is a lounge located in Warman Hall with a TV, a mini kitchen, and other activities. There are two lounges located in Smith Hall; one contains a TV while the other is typically used for studying. The lounges are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Students can spend time in there as long as they are not sleeping. Men and women can both be in any of these lounges during any hours when the lounge is open.

Where do I take a DSST test?

Will class sizes change?

Our campus, classrooms, and coursework have all been redesigned to maintain safety protocols according to the best guidelines from our county, state, and higher education officials. Still, we recognize that there may be circumstances that put students, employees or family members at higher risk of serious illness, and we are making every effort to continue to make coursework accessible for all involved. In accordance with county guidelines, in- person classes will have a maximum of 25 students in Phase 1 and a maximum of 50 students in phase 2. All classrooms are set up for students to maintain 6 ft. of physical distance from other students at all times.

Will I be required to be test for COVID-19?

Warner Pacific University students and employees are not required to test for COVID-19 at this time.
