Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Leadership and Management: Degree Overview

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration program with an emphasis in Leadership and Management at Warner Pacific University (WPU) can help you develop your skills in strategic leadership and analytical decision-making to be able to effectively manage teams and drive business performance in any industry.

The BS in Business Administration program is also available with emphasis areas in Healthcare Administration, Human Resource Management, and Entrepreneurship. Working adult learners with some college experience may want to consider the Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Business Administration program, which has online and hybrid format options.

Balancing instruction in business theories with practical, hands-on experiences, WPU’s BS in Business Administration program with an emphasis in Leadership and Management covers key business topics in areas such as economics, employment law, and ethics, as well as core leadership and management concepts in fields that include managerial accounting, global business, and strategic management.

Upon successful completion of the bachelor’s in leadership and management program, graduates will demonstrate:

  • Effective leadership and team-oriented capabilities
  • Proficiency in the basic theories associated with management and leadership, such as those related to organizational theory and operations management

What Can You Do With a Bachelor’s in Leadership and Management?

Earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration that emphasizes leadership and management skills can position you for a number of professional roles that have responsibilities such as leading teams, coordinating projects, and supervising operations in a wide range of industries.

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Leadership and Management, Curriculum

The BS in Business Administration, Leadership and Management, curriculum includes six prerequisite course credits, 30 major course credits, and 18 emphasis course credits. Of the 54 total required credits, 22 credits must be completed in residence at WPU, and 28 credits must be in upper-division courses. 

In order to earn a BS in Business Administration, Leadership and Management, at WPU, you need to do the following:

  • Complete all major course requirements and general education core course requirements with grades of at least C- in each course.
  • Complete a total of 120 credits, including at least 40 upper-division credits (300-level and 400-level courses).
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.

Will I be required to wear a mask?

Everyone (faculty, staff, students, and visitors) will wear a face covering over the nose and mouth in University buildings and on the campus grounds when others are present, unless an exception has been approved.

Will I share a room?

Students who choose to live on campus for the Fall will be assigned a single-occupancy room for the semester. WPU has moved to single-occupancy only rooms to ensure that housing can remain open for students no matter what direction the pandemic takes.

Will my financial aid be enough to cover all of my costs?

Financial aid is meant to serve as assistance in helping you pay for your educational expenses. It is also individualized, so you should contact your Financial Aid Counselor for information regarding costs versus aid eligibility. It is always wise to consider additional resources to pay for school.

Will there be events for the residence halls?

Our top priority is creating an engaging environment within our residential spaces while maintaining appropriate distancing and health measures. Throughout the semester, Residence Life will host a combination of virtual programming and in person outdoor events, virtual resident advisor check ins, and virtual residence life coordinator meet and greets. Students will have access to facilitated discussions about movies, podcasts, and recordings and have the opportunity to access “grab and go” programming materials to help create connection to the residential community. Residence Life will also highlight virtual content and programs from across campus that students may participate in. When possible, events will be held in-person while maintaining safe physical distancing practices.

Payment Plan Options

A student selects one Primary Payment Option. A Secondary Option is required if the Primary Option is not the Pay & Go Plan.

Pay and Go Plan

Payment course by course: If the Pay & Go Plan is the “Primary Option,” payment for courses are due in full by the first day each course starts. If the Pay & Go Plan is the “Secondary Option,” any outstanding charges not covered by the “Primary Option” are due by the first day the course starts.

Corporate Tuition Deferment Plan

Participation in this option requires that a copy of the company’s tuition reimbursement policy, on company letterhead, be on file and approved by the Office of Student Accounts. The portion of company reimbursed tuition and/or books are deferred 30 days from the last day of each course. The student is responsible to pay in full any amount not paid by the company by the 31st day after the course ends. The student is expected to notify the Office of Student Accounts of changes in employment status that affect payment.

Direct Bill Plan

Approved company tuition vouchers must be received two weeks prior to the start of each course. The student must pay tuition not covered by Direct Billing by the first day each course starts. One hundred percent (100%) must be paid directly to Warner Pacific University by the employer in order for this option to be considered a “Primary Option”.

Financial Aid Plan

Federal Grants and Stafford Loans are available for eligible students. One hundred percent (100%) of tuition is deferred with completed financial aid paperwork and a processed FAFSA on file. The student must pay tuition and fees not covered by financial aid on or before each payment due date in accordance with the terms under the Pay & Go Plan.

Parking Permit Registration – All vehicles parked on campus by students or employees must be registered with the Campus Safety department and display a valid permit. Vehicles that are unregistered or do not display a permit are not permitted to park on campus. Visitors may obtain a guest permit free of charge from the Campus Safety office. Parking Permits are $65 per semester and can be charged to your student account.

Faith and Service Commitment form – All students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours are required to participate in the Faith and Service Commitment Program. Students in the Adult Degree Program, Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Education Students, students in their student teaching semester, and master’s level candidates are exempt from these requirements.

Yes, you, the applicant can. Please fill out the Pre-BSN Transcript Self-Evaluation Form. This form is to help students know if they are ready to apply for the BSN Degree Program. If the form cannot be completely filled out by the prospective student, the student is not ready to apply for the BSN Degree Program until their courses are completed.

Late Fees

Unpaid balances are subject to a 1.5% service charge each month the balance remains unpaid. To avoid late fees, payments must be made by the first day each course starts. This applies to any balance not covered by Financial Aid, Tuition Deferment, or a Direct Billing Plan.
