Warner Pacific students provide more than 4,000 hours of volunteer service to our community each year. This is a list of some of the local organizations that benefit from their involvement.

Adventist Health Portland, an OHSU Health partner, is a faith-based, nonprofit health care network consisting of a 302-bed medical center, 27 medical clinics, and home care and hospice services in the Portland area.

Do you have a passion to “live God’s love by inspiring health, wholeness and hope?”

Volunteers:

  • Are assigned a mentor to help them learn
  • Begin in the escort/transport area, where they become familiar with the facility and how we deliver personalized, whole-person care

Borland Free Clinic offers comprehensive medical care, including primary and urgent care, diabetes education, physical therapy, gynecology, other specialty care services and referrals, prescriptions, lab work, and more.

Volunteers:

  • Join an amazing team of volunteers
  • Commit to at least one 4-hour shift, at least once a month, for a minimum of 6 months

At IRCO, our mission is to welcome, serve, and empower refugees, immigrants, and people across cultures and generations to reach their full potential. We imagine a future where refugees and immigrants belong, our staff are nurtured, and all communities thrive.

SMART Reading is a children’s literacy nonprofit.

Volunteer Readers:

  • Provide literacy support to kids
  • Some volunteers read one-on-one with students and others lead a classroom read-aloud
  • Commit to spend 1 hr each week at a local elementary or preschool
  • Complete an online orientation and on-site training

PARTNER WITH OAKS PARISH TO SUPPORT FAMILY PROMISE

Volunteers of all ages are welcomed. Family Promise helps hundreds of families a year, and it would not be possible without valuable volunteers. You are the secret sauce! There are many ways to get involved – from craft projects, to financial literacy and resume building, to data entry, community outreach or helping to organize fund raising events.
