Student Participation: Social Work Leadership Committee (SWLC)

The SWLC is a student leadership opportunity overseen by Social Work Faculty Affiliate, available to BSW students. The purpose of the SWLC is to meet with and provide feedback to the Social Work Faculty about program effectiveness, curriculum, or program changes, and/or suggestions for improvement, to plan Social Work gatherings to bring Social Work majors together, to contribute to Social Work Department newsletters, and to fulfill speaking opportunities that enable third and fourth year students to speak to first and second year students and community members about the Social Work major as needed.

The SWLC is comprised of four roles and is elected by Social Work students for a full academic year every fall:

  • Director
  • Assistant Director
  • Secretary
  • Communications Coordinator
  • Caitlin Asher, Faculty Member Affiliate
