To become a certified public accountant, individuals need to earn a degree, such as a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and complete at least 150 credit hours in related fields such as finance, accounting, and business administration. The BA in Accounting program only counts for 120 of those hours, so additional higher education coursework is required.
