Chapel is our regular all-community gathering and our biggest classroom. We host speakers from around the world who challenge the community to live out their faith and become responsible global citizens. Warner Pacific has many talented students who lead us in worship on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. In the midst of WPU’s rigorous academic week, Chapel is often a vibrant place of renewal and reflection.
Our chapel program is intentionally centered on Christ. Our hope for each service is seen in our benediction from I Timothy, “I thank Christ Jesus my Lord, who has given me strength, that He considered me faithful, appointing me to His service.”
Chapel is a requirement for completing the Faith and Service Commitment.
Two Ways to Engage Faith

Community chapel services provide an opportunity to come together to celebrate, learn and grow. Chapel is our regular all-community gathering and our biggest classroom. One on One
One on One are one-time appointments with WPU’s Campus Pastor to just talk.
Faith Engagement Locations
Chapel meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30-11:20 a.m.
One on One meetings are 30 minute appointments scheduled with the Campus Pastor.
Fines
Because we believe these experiences are essential to the growth and development of each student, participation in this program is a required component of what it means to be a student at Warner Pacific University. Therefore, students who do not complete and log the required number of hours for chapel and service prior to the set deadline will be fined $10 per missed hour, with a maximum fine amount of $200, at the end of each semester.
Faith Waiver
Waivers of chapel and service requirements are given for those involved in the Professional & Graduate Studies (PGS), Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Education students who are completing their student teaching semester, Master’s level students, Full-time Nursing students and students taking fewer than 12 credits.
Faith Petition
Students with an unavoidable academic or work-related conflict preventing he/she from participating in our Faith and Service program may petition the chapel requirement by contacting Lorenzo Peterson, the University Chaplain and Director of Campus Ministries, at lpeterson0@warnerpacific.edu. Requests must include the type of conflict, a specific schedule indicating which chapel dates cannot be attended and supervisor contact information if the conflict is work-related. Only requests with the information listed previously will be considered.
Full semester waivers should be submitted by the third week of each semester.
Students can only petition for upcoming chapels to be waived. We are unable to waive chapels retroactively.
