Warner Pacific University is pleased to welcome two new full-time faculty members whose dedication to teaching, scholarship, and student success will enrich our academic community.
Dr. Therese Albert, Ph.D. — Assistant Professor of Chemistry
Dr. Therese Albert brings a decade of research and teaching experience across three continents — Africa, Europe, and North America — to her new role at WPU. She joins us from Washington State University Vancouver, where she taught General and Organic Chemistry, and from a postdoctoral fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University, where her research focused on metalloproteins and bioinorganic compounds involved in nitric oxide signaling and oxidative stress.
Dr. Albert earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry with a specialization in Biochemistry from RPTU in Germany and has published her research in leading scientific journals. Fluent in French, German, and English, she is passionate about student-centered learning, active inquiry, and integrating faith into the learning experience. Rooted in her Catholic faith and guided by Franciscan values, she is committed to mentoring students academically, personally, and spiritually.
Prof. Michael Wilsey, M.A. — Assistant Professor of Mathematics
A lifelong Oregon resident, Prof. Michael Wilsey brings over four decades of teaching experience to his new full-time role at WPU. After earning his undergraduate degree from Pacific University and his graduate degree from Lewis & Clark College, he taught mathematics for 31 years at Clackamas High School, also coaching football and wrestling.
Since joining WPU in 2013, Prof. Wilsey has taught both mathematics and business courses, including statistics, finance, accounting, economics, and discrete math, in both the Professional and Graduate Studies (PGS) program and the traditional undergraduate program. Known for his dedication to student success, he looks forward to continuing to inspire and challenge students in the classroom.
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Albert and Prof. Wilsey to their new roles at Warner Pacific University as we begin the 2025–2026 academic year.
