Rooted in Christ. Rising with Purpose since 1937.Badge celebrating 88 years of Warner Pacific

On October 5, 1937, a small group of believers gathered in Spokane, Washington, to begin classes at what was then Pacific Bible College. Founded by the Church of God and rooted in the conviction that education and faith belong together, that moment marked the beginning of what would become Warner Pacific University.

Eighty-eight years later, Warner Pacific continues to live out that same calling—serving as Portland’s only Christ-centered university and equipping students to lead with purpose, courage, and compassion.

From its early days in Spokane to its move to Portland’s Mt. Tabor neighborhood in 1940, the University’s story has been one of growth, faith, and transformation. What began with just two graduates and one building has become a vibrant community of students, alumni, and educators shaping lives and strengthening communities across the Northwest and beyond.

As Warner Pacific celebrates 88 Years of Belonging, we honor the generations who have built and sustained this Christ-centered mission—and we look ahead to a future filled with promise and purpose.
