Assistant Professor of Chemistry
Background
Dr. Therese Albert is a chemist, educator, and person of faith whose academic journey spans three continents — Africa, Europe, and North America — and more than a decade of research and teaching in the chemical sciences. She joined Warner Pacific University as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry, bringing a passion for student-centered learning, scientific inquiry, and faith-informed education to the classroom and campus community.
Before joining Warner Pacific, Dr. Albert served as an Adjunct Faculty member at Washington State University Vancouver, teaching General and Organic Chemistry. She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), where her research explored the structure and reactivity of metalloproteins and bioinorganic compounds, particularly those involved in nitric oxide signaling and oxidative stress. Her work has been published in leading journals including JACS, Inorganic Chemistry, and Chemical Science.
Dr. Albert is committed to fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and conceptual understanding, with a teaching philosophy that emphasizes active learning, real-world application, and inclusive pedagogy. Rooted in her Catholic faith and shaped by Franciscan values, she views education as a vocation of service and actively participates in her parish community.
