Benjamin Leavitt
Director of Academic Services

My name is Ben, and I assist WPU students in achieving academic success through disability accommodations, time management mentoring, and tutoring. My goal is to be available to all WPU students and to help them walk through whatever academic challenges they might be facing. My work is energized by seeing your growth, and it’s rooted in my experience as an academic historian and my desire to be relationally oriented in all I do. I’m still a student of history, and I’m learning more each day about topics like interpersonal communication and executive function. In my free time, I run, read, and play the piano.

Adan Uribe
Academic and Accommodations Navigator

As the CASA Academic Navigator, I want to make a difference in the lives of our students. I collaborate with many different departments here at WPU to better serve our students. Outside of my role, I enjoy working out by doing kickboxing to recharge and have fun. I also enjoy playing soccer with my family and friends. I enjoy listening to music and trying new foods.

Ashley Pugh

I am here at WPU because I want to help students succeed in their classes and encourage them that they are strong, independent individuals that have the ability to succeed. I tutor in all math & business subjects ranging from statistics and team projects to creating business pitches and presentations. I want to know more about how we can use self-regulation strategies to center our minds and bodies. To rest and recharge, I like to hang out with my friends, travel, watch TV shows, and listen to music.

Sarah Matthews

My name is Sarah Matthews, and I am the writing tutor at WPU. I am here at WPU because I want to help students develop their voice and be able to write their ideas in a successful way. I tutor in all subjects that require writing, ranging from English to other humanities courses that use APA format. I want to know more about how students can bring their own culture into their writing to expand the horizons of their readers. To rest and recharge, I like to hang out with my family, go hiking with my dog, and do all things creative including painting and crochet.

Marin Bliss
Peer Navigator

My name is Marin Bliss, and I am majoring in human biology and will be graduating in Spring 2026. After completing my bachelor’s degree, my goal is to pursue a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. I am passionate about helping others and am committed to giving back to the communities and individuals who have supported me throughout my journey. I wanted to become a peer navigator to actively engage with my school community, support fellow students in their academic and personal journeys, and to be a source of positivity and encouragement. To rest and recharge, I enjoy meaningful moments with my family and friends, personal time with the Lord, and being out in nature.

Jovita Laloulu
Peer Navigator

I am majoring in Kinesiology and am graduating in Spring 2026 with the goal of attending Hawaii Pacific University to pursue their PT program. Having had an amazing experience myself with the peer mentor and peer navigator team my freshman year, I only want to do the same for other incoming freshmen and transfer students. To recharge, I try to make time away from responsibilities like going out with friends, binge watching, or even just having some time alone.

Anaee Mendez
Peer Navigator

I am a junior pursuing a nursing major in the nursing program. I graduate in 2027 with the goal of becoming a nurse midwife, gaining more experience, and making more progress financially by saving money to travel and further my education in the field I want to pursue. I became a peer navigator to navigate new students and be the person anyone can talk to and come find if they need help. To rest and recharge, I like to watch K-Dramas and K-Pop content and sleep and relax.

Natalie Siquina García
Peer Navigator

My major is in Business Administration with minors in Human Resource Management and Entrepreneurship. I am graduating in Spring 2026 with the goal of starting my career in the business or corporate sector in a role related to Human Resources or Organizational Development. I wanted to become a peer navigator because I understand how unfamiliar and challenging starting college can be, especially in the beginning. I’ve been through that transition myself, and I know how valuable it is to have someone who’s been there and can offer guidance. My goal is to be a supportive and reliable resource for students, someone they can turn to for help, encouragement, or even just someone to talk to. I want students to know they are not alone, and that there is a peer navigator like me who genuinely cares and wants to help them succeed in their college. To recharge, I like to spend time outdoors with family and friends. I enjoy going to rivers and lakes where I can relax and connect with nature. I also love playing soccer with friends because it’s a great way to stay active and have so much fun together.
