Warner Pacific University celebrates the remarkable journey of the Men’s Soccer team, whose postseason run concluded Thursday afternoon in the NAIA National Championship Quarterfinals in Orange Beach, Alabama. After 110 minutes of scoreless, hard-fought play, the match moved to a penalty shootout, where the Knights fell to the University of the Cumberlands.
Despite the outcome, this team leaves a legacy that extends far beyond the scoreboard. Their postseason performance drew national attention, with commentators highlighting Warner Pacific as one of the tournament’s true “Cinderella stories” — a team defined by resilience, composure, and an unwavering belief in one another. Through rain, late-night matches, and high-pressure moments, the Knights carried themselves with the character and unity that define our University.
Excellence On and Off the Field
One of the defining features of this postseason run was the team’s commitment to their academic responsibilities. Throughout tournament play, student-athletes continued submitting assignments, participating in study hall, and working closely with faculty as final exams approached. Their ability to balance academic expectations with national competition reflects the heart of what it means to be a Knight at Warner Pacific — disciplined, grounded, and purpose-driven.
A Season to Remember
The Knights close the season with an impressive 16–4–4 overall record, including significant victories that propelled them onto the national stage and into the final eight teams in the country. With a roster composed largely of student-athletes from the Portland region, this team showcased the depth of local talent and the strength of a program committed to developing students who excel academically, athletically, and personally.
