Biography
Dr. Jeannie Ray-Timoney is blessed to serve as Dean of the School of Education. She is dedicated to supporting our next generation of teachers in an atmosphere that encourages curiosity and collaboration grounded in faith.

Jeannie served Catholic education for most of her career including, as a school teacher, principal, associate superintendent, and Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon. As a past member of the National Catholic Education Association’s (NCEA) National Standards and Benchmarks of Elementary and Secondary Catholic Schools (NSBECS) Advisory Council, she contributed to the most current NSBECS standards. These standards are foundational for Catholic schools and for many K-12 accreditation organizations for Catholic schools in the US. Jeannie served on the Board of Directors for the Western Catholic Educational Association, helping create their most recent protocol for accreditation.

Jeannie is focused on making sure that all students are seen, heard, and loved. She continues to research inclusionary practices that reach all learners and reflect the rich cultural diversity of the US. Jeannie holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of San Francisco, a master’s degree from Concordia University, a K-12 administrator’s license from Lewis and Clark College, and a doctoral degree from the University of San Francisco.
