Juju Williams – President
Year: Junior
Major: Kinesiology

1) What responsibilities does your role entail?
My responsibilities consist of being a voice for students in exchanges involving the community, faculty, staff, and more. Also, I would say that my responsibilities run deeper than what a handbook says I am responsible for. I see my role as a great opportunity to engage with students and encourage them just as a person seeks comfort in a friend. I want to do the same and be a safe space for students to share their concerns and know that they are heard. My mission is to assist students along their college journey and even my own, to grow not only intellectually but spiritually as well.

2) What made you decide to get involved with student government?
My decision was primarily based on some of the staff members that I encountered. Being in communication with some of these staff members gave me the final confirmation on why I was selected to be in student government. Being the senior class president during my last year of high school gave me the confidence to know and expect what the students are looking for in a leader. It gives me great joy knowing that being involved with student government will be an avenue to reach out to other students that need someone they can confide in. It will also help the student government believe that there is always someone that can stand in the gap and voice both on and off campus as well.

3) What is one piece of advice you have for your peers?
The only piece of advice I can offer for my peers is to believe that “You can do ALL things when you put your faith and trust in GOD”. Even at your lowest or highest moments, good or bad, big or small, God already sees your heart desires and He will answer according to His will and time. But you have to believe in yourself first in order for those steps to take place.
