Dear WPU Community,

Let me begin by acknowledging June as the month of Father’s Day! Just as we thank our Heavenly Father, we pause and say thank you to all the earthly fathers out there who are working hard to guide their kids successfully. As the father of two boys myself – Brian Asa and Nathan Morgan Qodesh – I can say that of all the titles I’ve held in my career, “Dad” is the one that makes me the proudest. What a profound blessing it is to be given the honor and privilege of serving as a parent – and how humbling! Of course, “fathers” and “mothers” can come in different forms, and at Warner Pacific, whether our students come from “traditional” backgrounds or not, we take special pride in walking alongside each and every one, through the highs and the lows, just as a trusted member of the family would.

We also want to thank all the “fathers” and “mothers” of Warner Pacific University itself. Campus is a little bit quieter in June as we transition to summer classes. As I walk along our pathways I reflect on the many names I see gracing the buildings –  the A.F. Gray Administrative Building, Egtvedt Hall, Kardatzke Hall, Mcguire Auditorium, C.C. Perry Gymnasium, Schlatter Prayer Chapel, and Otto F. Linn Library to name a few. I am filled with gratitude for the men, women and families who have come before, serving as teachers and administrators, donors and alums, students and friends. Like loving parents, these people invested in our university because they believed in this mission, and consequently, remained committed to its growth the years. Hallelujah for the Family of God!

Whether you have a special Dad or parent in your life, are remembering a special Dad who has gone on to be with the Lord, or even have a difficult or non-existent relationship at all…I pray that this be the month you draw closer to your Father in Heaven who endlessly loves you, goes before you, and renews your strength.

“And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.” – 2 Corinthians 6:18

Thank you for your ongoing prayers for Warner Pacific University.

Many blessings,
