Medical laboratory scientists are trained to work in clinical chemistry, hematology, immunohematology, immunology, and microbiology, with various sub-specialties in each of these major areas. The program of study is designed to provide the knowledge and technical skills necessary to qualify an individual for work in a diagnostic clinical laboratory, research, or industry, forensic labs, veterinary clinics, industrial research labs, and biotechnology labs.

This program is offered in partnership with the Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) and Oregon Health & Sciences University (OHSU). Students complete three years of pre-professional courses in science and general education at Warner Pacific, earning an associate’s degree in Medical Science. These students are seamlessly incorporated into a 15-month Medical Lab Science (MLS) professional studies program at OIT that includes in-lab training at OHSU. Students will complete their study with a bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science and an MLS certification, preparing them to enter the allied health field with the competitive edge they need to succeed.
