The Otto F. Linn Library serves the students, faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters of Warner Pacific College. Some services are also offered to students of Portland area colleges and universities, and adults living in the area. All patrons, other than college employees and current students, must provide proof of a current mailing address and phone number. All users of the Library are required to adhere to the Library policies and rules.
- Food and drink are permitted in the Library. Covered containers are recommended for liquids.
- Courtesy phones are provided on the Library porch and at the base of the stairs.
- Patrons who are disruptive will be asked to leave. Security may be called if the disruption persists.
- Cell phone calls in the Library should be limited out of respect to others.
- No pets are allowed in the Library. Only service animals (e.g. seeing eye dogs) will be permitted.
Ethics and Copyright
The library staff conduct themselves in accordance with the American Library Association Code of Ethics, the Library Bill of Rights and the Policy on Confidentiality of Library Records. All library patrons will be treated equitably and with respect.
WPC Library upholds the Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, U.S. Code), which governs the reproduction of copyrighted material. We reserve the right to refuse a request if it would violate copyright law. For more information, see the library’s copyright page.
Guest Internet Use
As a community service, the Library provides Internet access to non-WPC library patrons. A person from the community requesting this service will be required to present photo ID and sign an Acceptable Use Contract. Library staff will sign the patron on to the computer using a guest account.
Photocopying and Printing
The Library’s photocopier is available at ten cents per page (cash only). Faculty, staff, and ADP students may bill library photocopies to their departments.
Printer fees are six cents per page for black ink only, and nine cents per page for color printing. WPC students pay for printer use via Printing Accounts. Patrons who are not students or employees of WPC must pay at the Circulation Desk.
Authorized members of the Warner community may use equipment permanently installed in the classrooms at any time. If assistance is needed, it should be requested in advance. Equipment installed in the library, such as the listening center or viewing stations, may be used anytime the Library is open. Portable equipment such as data projectors, laptops, camcorders, etc. should be scheduled in advance with the media specialist in Information Services and will be delivered to the classroom when possible.
Anyone wishing to use any media equipment off-campus must receive permission from the media specialist.
Revisions to these policies may be made at any time with the agreement of the Library staff.
