Dr. Johnson has over 23 years of cross-cultural teaching experience. He and his wife Gwen served in South Korea, Egypt, Lebanon, and Asia-Pacific while living on the island of Guam. While in Lebanon John served as the academic dean and then president of Mediterranean College. John’s greatest joys are teaching and mentoring.
John and his wife Gwen are presently working to reignite a strong and compelling outreach emphasis on the Warner Pacific campus. In May of 2011 John led three students on a trip to Myanmar to participate in a leadership training conference. In the recent past John has led WPC students to Tanzania, Japan, Taiwan, China, India, Bangladesh, and Honduras.
In 2009 John was awarded the Kendall Excellence in Teaching Award and in 2010 John was voted the Faculty Person of the Year at Warner Pacific.
“I am thrilled to be a part of the Warner Pacific community. Before every class I develop and teach, I intentionally ask the question: How will my students look more like Christ as a result of our time together? A good education is available in many places within the US and the world. A quality liberal arts education is offered here.”
