Freshman Scholarships and Grants

2016-17 Academic Year

Applicants for all scholarships must complete the Warner Pacific College Application for Admission and be admitted in good standing as a full time student in the traditional semester program. The following scholarships, awards, and grants require full-time enrollment (except church matching grants), and are only available to first time freshmen students working toward their first undergraduate degree.

Academic Scholarships

Warner Pacific’s academic scholarships are awarded based strictly on grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). Students can only receive one of the below Academic Scholarships. Academic Scholarships are renewable for 3 additional years.

First-year college students who are admitted to Warner Pacific and meet the following high school GPA requirements will automatically be awarding the corresponding scholarship.

GPA Requirements



GPA: 3.6 – 4.0 Trustees’ Scholarship $8,000 each year
GPA: 3.25 – 3.5 President’s Scholarship $6,000 each year
GPA: 3.0 – 3.2 Dean’s Scholarship $4,000 each year
GPA: 2.50 – 2.99 Achievement Award $2,000 each year

Award Guidelines

Music Award


For students involved in Music. Must participate in Music performance. Must audition each year. Frequently asked questions about the Music Award.
Theatre Award


For students involved in Drama. Must participate in Theatre productions. Must audition each year.
City Builder Leadership Award

$1,500 each year

For students who are leaders in their school and community. Students who receive this scholarship are required to attend weekly leadership training seminars throughout the summer leading up to the start of their first year at Warner Pacific College. Students are provided a mentor/coach to work with them to prepare for their transition to the college environment and to ready them for being leaders in the classroom and in community activities from the first day of school. Since participation in the weekly training is required, awards are limited to students living in the Portland metro area (within an easily commutable distance of campus).
Lee Leadership Award

$1,000 each year

For students active in leadership positions; must participate in WPC Leadership Program. Minimum GPA: 2.75
Dr. John Garlington Award

$2,500 each year

For students making significant contributions to diversity in their school or community. Minimum GPA: 2.0

Other Awards & Grants

Awards and Grants are renewable for three additional years unless otherwise indicated.



Award Guidelines


Alumni Grant

$500 each year

For students whose Parent, Legal Guardian, or Grandparent attended WPC for 30 or more semester hours. Download application No deadline requirement.
Athletic Award

Church of God Grant

$1,000 each year

For students attending a church associated with the Church of God, Anderson, IN.  Student must submit a letter from the church pastor documenting church attendance for at least a year prior to attending WPC. Contact Admissions Counselor. No application required and no deadline requirement.
Church Matching Grant

Up to $500 each semester

Warner Pacific College will match church contributions toward education. Church Contribution Required, must be received by the 10th day of each semester. Download an informational letter for your church. No application required.

All students are strongly encouraged to file the FAFSA as soon after January 1 as possible. The Warner Pacific College code to enter on FAFSA is 003225. This will allow us to review individual financial information and determine eligibility for federal, state, and other institutional aid opportunities.
