What You Can Learn
The Associate of Science in Accounting (ASAC) is a two-year liberal arts degree consisting of 21 courses (63 credits).
This program prepares students for entry-level positions in bookkeeping or accounting and qualifies for entrance into the Bachelor of Accounting program.
The curriculum provides a solid foundation in business strategy, financial statements, cost information, economic, management, and ethical issues.
Students will be presented with various financial statements and learn how to record, present, and analyze financial data. (Download the Course Description PDF).
You’ll advance through each course one at a time in five-week blocks, working with the same group of 14-22 classmates throughout the program. You’ll complete the 39 credits in 2 years meeting one evening a week.
Who Can Apply
The AS in Accounting is open to students who:
- Have at least two years of full-time work experience
- Can provide proof of high school or GED completion, including an official transcript (GPA higher than 2.0)
- TOEFL may be required for applicants whose native language is not English
If you have previous college credit you would like to have evaluated for transfer credit, you’ll need to provide official transcripts showing that you achieved a GPA of at least 2.0.
