Choral Music Summit with Dr. Anton Armstrong and Mark Stover

Warner Pacific’s Music Department is pleased to offer two all-day clinics (Friday, October 9, and Saturday, October 10) for local high school choirs and directors featuring Dr. Anton Armstrong, Tosdal Professor of Music at St. Olaf College, and Mark Stover, Artistic Director of Magnum Chorum.

All Day Clinic

Comprised of two tracks, the all day clinic includes instruction from Dr. Armstrong and Mr. Strover, as well as sessions with Warner Pacific professors and students. (Directors, use this link to reserve a spot for your choir.)

Select Leadership Track: High school choir directors will choose leadership quartets compromised of their strongest, most mature and most accomplished singers. These students will make up an 80-voice Honor Choir that will rehearse during the day and be featured at the evening Celebration Concert. They will spend the day under the direction of Dr. Armstrong and Mr. Stover.

Full Choir Track: High school directors will bring their entire choirs to be taught and inspired by Dr. Armstrong and Mr. Stover. Choirs will also attend two breakout sessions by Warner Pacific professors and students on topics such as:

  • Maximizing Your Voice
  • College, Music, and You
  • Improving Note Reading
  • Overcoming Performance Anxiety

Observer Pass: Gain professional insight as you study Dr. Armstrong and Mr. Stover with a one-day observer pass. You can attend all sessions; a sure way to glean choral direction skills from these brilliant leaders. ($25 per person)
