Welcome Week Family Schedule - 2011

This is the schedule for parents/families on Thursday, August 25th. Full week schedule here.

8:30 am – 1:00 pm

Welcome Week Check-in at the Welcome Week Tent
ALL NEW STUDENTS MUST CHECK IN at the Welcome Week tent in front of Kardatzke Hall under the big tree. You will receive your WW Packet and the Knights will direct you to where you need to be! If you miss check-in please check in at the Student Affairs Office located in Smith Hall.

Residence Halls Open for Move-in
After you check in for Welcome Week, head over to the Residence Life tables to complete your housing paperwork.

8:30 am – 10:00 am

Composition Testing- A.F. Gray 2, 11 and 12
Your Admissions Counselor will notify you if you need to participate

9:00 am – 11:30 pm

New Student Advising- Faculty Offices in A.F. Gray
If you registered with someone other than your faculty advisor, this is your opportunity to meet your advisor in his/her office. See a Knight for office locations.

10:00 am – 11:00 am

Coffee with the President for Families of New Students - Egtvedt 203
Come share a cup of coffee and a story about your student with President Andrea Cook at this open house style Coffee with the President.

11:00 am – 11:30 am

Financial Aid Entrance Presentation- Schlatter Chapel
Attendance is mandatory for all students using the federal loan program.

11:30 am – 12:30 pm

Arena Registration- Kardatzke Hall
If you did not attend a summer Pre-Registration event, this session is mandatory. Meet with a Student Financial Services counselor and then go to the Office of Student Affairs for your Student ID.

11:30 am – 1:00 pm

Lunch- Dining Hall
Students with a meal plan, swipe your card. Lunch will be covered for new commuter students today. Family and friends can eat lunch for just $5.

1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Welcome Week Opening Session- McGuire Auditorium
Join us for your official welcome to Warner Pacific from President Andrea Cook, Dean of Faculty Cole Dawson and ASWPC President Josh Peck.

2:00 pm – 4:30 pm

Parent and Family Orientation- McGuire Auditorium
Join with staff from the Student Affairs and Parent Relations offices for an informative session about this transition for your students and for you.

First Year Experience: Transitions and Connections- Assigned Classrooms
Mandatory for first-year students. Meet your FYE class. Get to know your instructors and peers who will be on this journey with you. This session will begin on AF Gray Lawn.

Transfer Experience: Transitions and Connections- Egtvedt 203
College is not new to you but Warner Pacific is. Learn how to navigate WP, and receive valuable information and resources to help with a smooth transition.

4:30 pm – 5:00 pm

Free Time
This is your chance to reconnect with your family and rest if you need a power nap.

5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

All Campus “Aloha” Dinner- A.F. Gray Lawn
Aloha- it means hello … but also goodbye. This dinner is a transition from your home to a new community. Get to know WPC students, staff and faculty. Dinner is on your meal plan. Family and those without a meal plan will be covered.

6:00 pm – 6:30 pm

Family Send Off- A.F. Gray Lawn
As the parent and family portion of Welcome Week comes to a close, please participate in our formal goodbye to your parents and family.
