The MLK Day of Service is a higher education cooperative that builds community by honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King through direct service that impacts the places we live, work, and study.
On January 21st, 2013, Warner Pacific will join other colleges and universities from the Portland metro area in honoring the life and legacy of Dr. King at this 4th annual event. The day will begin at 9am with a rally that will provide an opportunity to reflect, celebrate, and remember Dr. King. Following the rally, students will serve in the community until 2pm. This service day is a multi-institutional collaboration among colleges and universities and the convening organization Oregon Campus Compact. This event is one of the largest mobilizations of college students in the country on MLK Day.
This year, Warner Pacific service projects will be centralized in NE Portland. The largest group of volunteers will be preparing donated books for delivery in Portland in partnership with the Children's Book Bank.
This inspiring service opportunity is open to all Warner Pacific students, staff, and faculty. Register or learn more on the 2013 MLK Day of Service website.
