Social Science

Studies provide opportunity for students in a variety of occupational settings in social services, law, government, law enforcement, and education. Students are also prepared for graduate study. The major can be specifically designed to meet Oregon teaching license requirements for Middle School - High School Social Studies licensure.

Major Competencies

• Graduates will be able to demonstrate knowledge of individual human behavior and subsequent impact on social organization, cultural patterns and social institutions.
• Graduates will be able to articulate the process(es) of quantitative and qualitative research approaches in the formation of public policy, nationally as well as internationally.
• Graduates will be able to analyze the relationship(s) between individual economic units, overall economic principles and the various institutions and issues of government.

32 credits: 18 credits in residence, 24 credits upper division. Required:
