Freshman Scholarships and Grants

2013-2014

Applicants for all scholarships must complete the Warner Pacific College Application for Admission and be admitted in good standing as a full time student in the traditional semester program. The following scholarships, awards, and grants require full-time enrollment (except church matching grants), and are only available to first time freshmen students working toward their first undergraduate degree.

*Requires separate application, interview, and attendance at WPC Scholarship Day on February 23, 2013. Applicants must be admitted and submit scholarship application by February 1, 2013.

Academic Scholarships

Warner Pacific’s academic scholarships are awarded based on a combination of grade point average (GPA), SAT (combined math and critical reading) or ACT composite scores, and date of application. Students can only receive one of the below Academic Scholarships. Academic Scholarships are renewable for 3 additional years.

Early Application Grant

Up to $500 each year

For students who are admitted to the traditional program and file their 2013-2014 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 1, 2013.
Renewable as long as FAFSA is filed by February 1 each subsequent year.

Clark County Grant

Up to $1,000 each year

For students who graduate from a high school or home school program in Clark County, Washington.

No Application Required.
No Deadline Requirement.

Portland Public Grant

Up to $1,000 each year

 

For students who graduate from a high school in the Portland Public School District.

No Application Required.
No Deadline Requirement.

Washington County Grant

Up to $1,000 each year

 

For students who graduated from a high school in Washington County.

No Application Required.

 

Alumni Grant

Up to $500 each year

For students whose Parent, Legal Guardian, or Grandparent attended WPC for 30 or more semester hours.

Urban Studies Scholarship

Varies

For students majoring in Urban Studies and desiring to make a significant change in the world.
Not Renewable. Must reapply for scholarship through the Urban Studies Departmental scholarship for continuning students.

Lee Leadership Award*

Up to $1,000 each year

For students active in leadership positions; must participate in WPC Leadership Program.
Cannot be combined with Trustee's Scholarship.
Minimum GPA: 2.75 (4.0 scale)

Application Deadline:
February 1, 2013.

Dr. John Garlington Award*

Up to $2,500 each year

For students making significant contributions to diversity in their school or community.
Minimum GPA: 2.0 (4.0 scale).

Music Award*

For students involved in Music.
Must participate in Music performance.
Must audition each year.

For international students admitted to Warner Pacific College.

Church of God Grant

Up to $1,000 each year

For students attending a church associated with the Church of God, Anderson, IN.
Student must submit a letter from the church pastor documenting church attendance for at least a year prior to attending WPC.

Church Matching Grant

Up to $500 each semester

Warner Pacific College will match church contributions toward education.
Church Contribution Required, must be received by the 10th day of each semester.
