WP grad finishes fifth at Miss Oregon Pageant

Miss Portland Alexandria Henderson '11 is named fourth runner-up at the competition, held June 29 - July 2 in Seaside.

Alex_Henderson_for_webAfter finishing second last year, Miss Portland Alexandria Henderson '11  made another strong showing at the 2011 Miss Oregon Pageant, finishing  in fifth place following a weeklong competition held at the Seaside Convention Center, June 29 - July 2, in Seaside, Ore. Caroline McGowan, Miss Linn-Benton County, won the competition.

Henderson, who graduated from Warner Pacific College with a degree in music performance in May, wowed the Seaside audience during the first evening of talent competition, June 29, with her own jazzy rendition of the classic "Summertime," from George Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess." She was named one of two talent winners for the evening, along with McGowan.

Henderson is the reigning 2011 Miss Portland, having also held the title in 2009. This was her third consecutive time competing at the Miss Oregon Pageant, which is part of the Miss America Organization.

I am so proud of Ms.Henderson and would like to invite her to speak to our youth at Vancouver Avenue First Baptist Church and also to my vocal performance majors at Portland Community College. Do you have contact or can you forward to her?
