Warner Pacific College to Host the National Diversity Conference of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities

PORTLAND, OR—February 11, 2013--- Warner Pacific College is set to host the spring 2013 Changing Faces Conference: Cultural Competency, Diversity, and Reconciliation, sponsored by the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU). The conference will convene April 5-7, registration information can be found at www.cccu.org.

Following the success of the inaugural Changing Faces conference in the fall of 2011, the CCCU is pleased to offer another opportunity for Chief Diversity Officers and others supporting diversity efforts in CCCU institutions to gather and explore themes of faith and multiculturalism.

Warner Pacific College is ideally suited to host this conference, with a multi-ethnic student population, a commitment to diversity as a way of life, and a strong understanding of the urban identity of the Portland metropolitan community. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage the culture of Portland, which serves as the framework for a college that is, "in the city, for the city."

"Warner Pacific is honored to host this important conference," said the College's President, Dr. Andrea P. Cook. "Reaching out to diverse and historically under-served populations is at the core of the College's mission and we are excited to share what we have learned with our colleagues and embrace the wisdom that those from other CCCU colleges have to offer, as we work together to create diverse and equitable institutions of higher education."

The CCCU is a higher education association of 170 intentionally Christ-centered institutions around the world. The 118 member campuses in North America are all fully-accredited, comprehensive colleges and universities with curricula rooted in the arts and sciences. In addition, 54 affiliate campuses from 19 countries are part of the CCCU. The Council's mission is to advance the cause of Christ-centered higher education and to help institutions transform lives by faithfully relating scholarship and service to biblical truth.
