SIFE team wins at regionals

SIFE teamWarner Pacific’s 2011 Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) presentation team of (L to R) Tyeson Wood, Fatina Santiago, Marina Apa, and Tyber Parsons were champions at the 2011 SIFE USA Regional Competition in San Francisco, Calif., March 14. They will compete at the National SIFE Exposition in Minneapolis, Minn. May 10 – 12.

The regional competition involved 19 teams divided into three “leagues,” with each league sending two champions. Warner Pacific and Heritage University of Toppenish, Wash. were named champions of League 2, which also had teams from California State University – Chico, Truckee Meadows Community College (Nev.) and University of California – Davis. Other champions from the regional competition included Feather River College (Calif.), University of Alaska – Fairbanks, Hartnell College (Calif.) and the University of Arizona.

In Minneapolis, the WP team will be among 400 teams competing for the national championship and the opportunity to represent the United States at the 2011 SIFE World Cup in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, October 3 – 5. The WP team is busy fundraising to offset the costs of the trip to Minneapolis.
