Common Day of Service

cds2Warner Pacific students, faculty, and staff participated in the 7th Annual Common Day of Service on Wednesday, September 14th. Over 340 individuals from the WPC community took a day off from classes to work on various community service projects around the Portland area.

Volunteers worked at seven different sites incluuding four neighborhood schools and Mt. Tabor Park.

Mt. Tabor - Pulling invasive species and building on the work of FYE classes by digging up roots of blackberry bushes and planting permanent solutions in their place.

Atkinson Elementary -  Reading to children, helping with classroom work, as well as some garden work.

Bridger Elementary - Helping teachers prep for school and work in the water garden.

Pioneer Special School - Painting and work outdoors gardening, edging, weeding.

Hosford Middle School - Landscaping their butterfly garden, clearing brush, trimming, weeding and doing some grounds keeping.

Compassion Connect - Joining the Compassion Connect – ACI at Barberry Village and Stone Creek apartment complexes to help beautify the spaces and work together to build relationships of grace with their neighbours.

Café Au Play -Putting fliers up in the neighborhood announcing farmers market and fall programs. Also work inside the café and some landscaping.
