Homecoming Chapel Service: McGuire Auditorium

Welcome home to the Warner Pacific Community. Chapel is the official Kick Off to the weekend. Warner Pacific professor Dr. Kelly Ballard ’89, ’92 will lead the worship team, and Pastor B.J. Kuykendall ‘09, Hoodview Church of God will be the guest speaker.

Golden Torch Society and PBC Luncheon: Egtvedt 203

Master of Ceremonies Pastor Bob Christensen ‘67 will host this lively group of Golden Alumni. The class of 1962 will be inducted into the Golden Torch Society. Enjoy songs, laughter and a round of Warner Jeopardy.

Cost $15.00 per person. Reservations due February 1.

Alumni Council Meeting: Egtvedt 203

Under the leadership of council president Garth Hamilton ‘98, plans for supporting the mission and vision of the college will be discussed.

Dinner and Alumni Theatre Production: Egtvedt 203

Enjoy a date with fellow alums. After enjoying dinner, guests will be entertained with an original “Reader’s Theatre” production about the life of Christ written by Rev. James L. Sparks ‘67 and Wanda Price ‘67, with a cast of alumni.

Brunch and Song-Fest: Egtvedt 203

Start the day with a song and join alumni choir members that enjoy singing for the fun of it. Hosted by Martin Shrout ‘91 and Debi (Schmidt) Steffensen ‘77, this time of reconnecting will put a song in your heart.

Classroom Visitations

Various classes currently in session have agreed to open the door to visitors during this time. For a list of course offerings and to make a reservation to attend class, visit the welcome table in the Tabor Grind Coffee Shop. Some classes will also be hosting guest faculty members from the past.

“Newsies” Family Movie Sing-a-Long: McGuire Theatre Rm. 161

Do you love a good musical and want to sing along? This film stars a freshfaced, pre-Batman Christian Bale as the leader of a ragtag clan of poor newsies, who go on strike when publishers Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst try to take some of their profits. Lots of great songs...amazing dancing... Bring a little change to purchase popcorn and be ready for a unique movie experience.

Super Scoop Ice Cream Social: Dining Hall

Student Government is sponsoring this event and invites everyone to enjoy ice cream and stories. Join in after the evening activities and find a sweet ending to the day.

Future Alumni Pre-Reunion for the Class of 2033: Kardatzke

Children born since 2009 are invited to bring their parents and siblings to an event created especially for them. Current Human Development students will be on hand to assist in the fun and games. Prizes, give aways, and alumni created products will enhance the time together. A photographer will capture this class for a future yearbook page.

2012 Honored Alumni Awards Luncheon: McGuire Auditorium

Recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of distinguished alumni.

  • Distinguished Alumni Ministry Award – Ethel Willard ‘58, Missionary

  • Distinguished Young Alumni Award – Ysu Umbalo ‘99, Doctor, Lubumbas, Democratic Republic of Congo

Entertainment provided by 2012 men’s vocal ensemble Bridgetown.

Souper Seminar and Jazz Concert: Kardatzke Hall and Schlatter Chapel

Sponsored by the Parent Council, this event provides the perfect opportunity to share a meal, receive current student information, and enjoy an excellent concert by both the vocal and instrumental jazz groups led by Dr. Dennis Plies. Student body Vice President Jordan Andrew will discuss student government opportunities and activities. The Athletic Chaplain, Michael Elsner will share about his role, and several current students will describe their campus experiences.

Hall of Honor Induction Dinner: Egtvedt 203

The Athletic Booster Club is sponsoring this activity to honor three outstanding former athletes:

  • Dave Dougherty, 1963-1966, Basketball, Award accepted by Peggy Dougherty

Connection Reception: Egtvedt 203

Hosted by Cindy (Fagan) ‘84 and Bernie Buckle ‘85, this reception celebrates the connections made at Warner Pacific. Enjoy a dessert and reminisce about the good ole days. Did you meet your spouse while attending WP? Did you participate in a wedding on campus while you were a student, yours or a friend’s? Bring those photos and share a smile about styles and ceremonies. This is open to anyone wanting to rekindle a connection to the Warner community.

Cost: $2.50 per person. Reservations due February 1.
