ATLANTA, Ga. - The Warner Pacific women's basketball team was named to the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA) NAIA Team Honor Roll for the 2011-12 season as announced Tuesday by the WBCA national office.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 annually recognizes NCAA Divisions I, II and III; NAIA; and junior/community college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined grade point averages (GPAs) inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2011-12 season is the 17th in which the WBCA has produced the honor rolls.
The Knights, led by 5th year coach Matt Gregg, were ranked 17th overall with a team GPA of 3.393. Northwestern (Iowa) is the highest ranked NAIA team with a GPA of 3.657 followed by Shorter (3.601), Trevecca Nazarene (3.549), Cornerstone (3.544), and Campbellsville (3.525) rounding out the Top 5 teams.
