PORTLAND, Ore. —Warner Pacific College inducted its first class of alumni into its newly established Athletic Hall of Honor during the 2012 Alumni and Family Weekend. Located in the foyer of the C.C. Perry Gymnasium, the Hall of Honor display showcases Warner Pacific alumni recognized for their excellence in sports.
Three outstanding former WPC athletes were inducted during the Hall of Honor Induction Dinner on Saturday, February 11, 2012. According to Ryan Kaiser, Warner Pacific College's Director of Athletics, the Hall of Honor was a huge success that fittingly demonstrated Warner's heritage of excellence. "We honored three individuals that have been deeply invested in our institution's athletic history," said Kaiser. "We were excited and happy to honor them."
Honored inductees included Warner Pacific Women's Volleyball great Glenna (LaFont) Collier '82 who was a four year letter winner and team MVP for Warner Pacific from 1979-82; soccer champion Brent Goulet '86 a four year letter winner for Warner Pacific from 1983-86; and basketball legend Dave Dougherty '66 who was named team MVP three times from 1963-66. Over 84 guests were in attendance at the dinner held in the McGuire Auditorium.
