Warner Pacific College Announces New Vice President for Institutional Advancement and External Relations
We welcome Dr. Aaron McMurray as the new Vice President for Institutional Advancement and External Relations. This is a critical role, and Dr. McMurray will bring creative and professional leadership to the efforts of growing the College’s fundraising excellence while also increasing the regional awareness of Warner Pacific and its mission.
Dr. McMurray, who will begin his service at Warner Pacific in June, has been part of the Advancement Office at Whitworth University since 2008 and presently serves as the Director of Alumni and Parent Relations and Annual Giving. In his current role, McMurray gives oversight to the annual giving strategy and alumni participation. A skilled major gifts officer charged with cultivating, stewarding and soliciting major and planned gift donors, McMurray will bring a deep knowledge of institutional advancement strategies to his new position at Warner Pacific.
In addition to his work in Advancement, McMurray has been an adjunct faculty member at both Whitworth and Gonzaga Universities. He earned a B.A. in History from Whitworth University, and a M.A. in Organizational Leadership and a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from Gonzaga University. Prior to his work in higher education, Dr. McMurray spent 10 years as a director for Young Life during which, he raised funds for operating budgets, as well as engaged in major gift cultivation.
McMurray was drawn to this position through his passion for the mission of Warner Pacific College and the bright opportunities he sees ahead for the College.
“It is imperative that our Administration reflect the unique mission and vision of the College,” said Warner Pacific President, Dr. Andrea P. Cook. “In Dr. Aaron McMurray, I believe we have found a leader who will bring innovative ideas to fund development while embracing a deep commitment to serving our city.”
