Movies in the Park
Saturday, August 20, 2011, 06:30pm

Portland Parks & Recreation is again bringing the annual free Movies in the Park to parks throughout the city, beginning Sunday, June 26 and running through Saturday, Sept. 10.

Animated features, classic films and recent hits are among the movies to be presented on a giant, 268−square−foot screen with a state−of−the−art sound system. Four movies will be shown in closed caption for the hearing impaired.

Warner Pacific will be hosting the presentation of "How to Train Your Dragon" on Saturday, August 20th.

All movies begin at dark (between 8 and 8:45 p.m.), and are dependent on the weather. The department will call a rainout by 5 p.m. and will post the info at the park. Prior to each movie, there will be free entertainment starting at 6:30 p.m. This year's "Movies in the Park" program will focus on emerging local bands.
