Welcome the season of Advent with a joyful time of fellowship as President Andrea Cook shares her heart and passion for shalom in our broken world. In her inspirational message, "A Child Was Born," Andrea will connect how the humble birth of a child over 2,000 years ago continues to bring healing today and impacts our mission and vision at Warner Pacific College. "Bridgetown," the College's premiere men's vocal group, will entertain us with a powerful and dynamic Christmas performance. Student Shawna Downes, 2011 President and current officer of Et cetera, the creative arts and writing club, will share how Warner Pacific students are serving others through the Children's Book Bank.
Like you, the Warner Pacific community takes seriously Christ's command to love our neighbors and to care for those who are often forgotten in our society. This ethic of service is woven into the fabric of who we are as a College, and our philosophy to be "In the City, For the City" compels us to find meaningful ways to help those in need. This season we are partnering with the Children's Book Bank to help bring the gift of reading to kids throughout Portland.
Please bring your new or gently used books to the brunch and help us give kids throughout Portland the gift of reading. Types of books most in need are Dr. Seuss and Spanish-language books. Other requests are: · Picture books
· Board books
· Alphabet books
· Counting books
(New books are preferred for Christmas.)
We hope you will join us for the inaugural Christmas Advent Brunch and we encourage you to invite friends and family to join us for this special gathering of women.
