Using the Online Catalog

Use the library catalog for access to the materials available in the WPC Library.

Using Summit

If an item is not in Warner's library, you may request it through the Summit borrowing system.  The Summit search button appears in the library catalog after an unsuccessful search.  Summit allows you to access over 28 million items from libraries all over Oregon and Washington, and delivery usually takes about 3 days.  Read more about Summit here.

If Summit doesn't have what you want, you can also use Interlibrary Loan. Depending on where the material is coming from, delivery could take up to 10 days, so plan accordingly.

Using Other Libraries as a Pickup Point for Summit Borrowing

Here's how to have your Summit items delivered to the Summit library of your choice:

  1. Check the member map to find the Summit location nearest you.
  2. Get a user account set up in our catalog. You will need your Warner ID card to do this.  Get started at the My Library Account page.
  3. Go to the Summit library you have chosen and tell a staff member that you want to be adopted as a user for Summit borrowing. You will be asked to log in to your user record in the Warner library catalog.
  4. After being adopted by a Summit library, you can have your Summit items delivered there by requesting them online if you: a) log in to Summit using Warner Pacific as your institution, and b) select your adopted library as the delivery location.
  5. The item(s) should be delivered to your library within about three days. If you registered at Warner using your warnerpacific.edu e-mail address, you'll receive an e-mail notifying you when it arrives; if you used another e-mail address on your registration card, you will not be notified.
  6. You may keep the item(s) for up to 6 weeks, and return them to any Summit library.

Citing Your Sources

Examples in a variety of citation styles are available. The complete MLA, APA, CBE, and Chicago Style manuals are on Reserve in the library for your reference.

If you have chosen to cite internet sources, you may want to view this handy guide, created for your by your library staff.  (Note that articles and e-books found through the databases linked above should be cited as books and journal articles, not as internet sources.)

Need Help?

Don't hesitate to contact your friendly library staff! Please be as specific about your information needs as you can. A staff member will respond with recommendations of databases and books to aid your research, and may also recommend other disciplines or examples that are related to your topic.
