WPC WorldCat is a new one-search interface for our library catalog. You can enter it through the searchbox on the homepage. It allows you to search not only the WPC Library's collection, but also Summit and WorldCat, the catalog of the world's biggest library network. And you can search them all at the same time, from on or off campus.
When you search for an item in this catalog, you'll see the WPC Library's items at the top of the results list. This will include electronic articles and digital content. After this, items from other libraries will be listed, beginning with regional Summit libraries, and finally items from farther afield, which you can borrow through Interlibrary Loan. Click here to learn more about borrowing items from other libraries.
We're working with the developers of WorldCat to make it the most useful research tool possible for WPC students and employees. However, we haven't ironed out every last wrinkle yet. If it doesn't work for you, a) please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it so we can fix it, and b) give the Classic Catalog or Summit a try instead.
The Classic Catalog contains only the print and electronic holdings of the WPC Library. It's still useful, because it offers you search options (such as searching for reserves by course or instructor) that are not available in WPC WorldCat. The Classic Catalog also provides the interface for your Library Account.
Serials Solutions allows you to browse the print and electronic journals in WPC's collection. This is a good way to find out what journals are available to you. If you're interested in searching the content within those journals, we recommend you use EBSCOhost and other periodical databases. WPC WorldCat has not yet been optimized for these searches, so while it may work for you, you may also run into more dead ends.
