Bachelor of Health Care Administration

The complexity, regulatory oversight, and demand for health care provision increases annually. Hospitals and clinics need administrators who understand regulations, budgeting, and staffing issues in order to effectively support the clinicians who deliver patient care. If you are a working adult interested in pursuing a career in health administration, Warner Pacific College can help.

Our Adult Degree Program offers a Bachelor of Health Care Administration that aims to produce graduates ready to provide the leadership today’s health care organizations need. It’s offered online or on-campus, to work with your schedule.

Consistent with Warner Pacific College’s mission as a Christ-focused institution of learning, this degree teaches professional skills and knowledge anchored by Christian ethical principles.

Who This Bachelor’s Completion Program is For

The Bachelor of Health Care Administration is suitable for working adults of any age who:

  • Want to pursue formal business and management education tailored to the health care industry;
  • Want to pursue health care administration job opportunities, including entry-level leadership and management roles;
  • Want to change career paths from a general business track to a health care-specific track.

What Our BHCA Can Teach You

Warner Pacific College’s health care administration degree completion program for adults provides 45 credits of upper-level study in health care management. It produces graduates who possess strong professional skills and knowledge, and who are effective communicators motivated by strong personal ethics.

Course topics in this program include:

  • Health Care Organization and Delivery
  • Finances and Budgeting of Health Care Organizations
  • Principles of Managed Care
  • Public Policy, the Law, and Ethics in Health Care
  • Quantitative Analysis for Business

How the Program Works

Like all of our ADP offerings, the Bachelor of Health Care Administration is a cohort program in which a group of 14-22 students advance through each course together. We keep our classes small to ensure you get personal attention from your instructors, and to facilitate healthy discussion environments among classmates.

We understand that working adults need learning environments that accommodate full-time employment. That’s why we offer online study, along with on-campus classes scheduled with working adults in mind. On-campus cohorts meet once a week in the evening at one of several locations throughout the Portland/Vancouver area.

To ensure you can master the material in each course, you’ll pursue one topic at a time. Finally, you’ll have the support of dedicated ADP staff who can help with admissions, financial aid, and career services.

Admissions Requirements

To apply for admission to the BHCA degree program, you need to have:

  • At least two years of full-time work experience
  • At least 48 credits of previous college coursework, with a minimum 2.0 GPA

Your previous college coursework can be in any area, and may have been earned at an accredited college or junior college, as well as through examinations such as CLEP or DANTES tests. An enrollment counselor can help you determine what kind of credit you have that is eligible for transfer evaluation.

Students who do not speak English as a first language may be required to take a TOEFL test or provide official scores from previous tests.

Finally, you need to complete our application form, provide transcripts from previous educational institutions, and pay the $25.00 fee.
