Embracing the miracle of the birth of Jesus Christ was the central theme of Warner Pacific's first Christmas Advent Brunch which welcomed 150 women to McGuire Auditorium on December 1, 2012. President, Dr. Andrea P. Cook, was the featured speaker for the event, sharing a message titled, "A Child Is Born."
This special time of fellowship and worship came as the result of friendships forged over the past four years through the President's Tea & Scholarship Auction.
The Christmas Advent Brunch featured Warner Pacific's men's vocal group, Bridgetown, performing contemporary and timeless Christmas songs found on their new CD, Bridgetown Christmas. Instrumental music during the program was provided by Ruth Ann Yerden on piano and Jennifer Cameron on flute.
Honoring the ethic of service woven into the mission of the College, the Christmas Advent Brunch partnered with the Children's Book Bank to collect vital book donations.
National research statistics reveal:
Guests who attended the President's Christmas Advent Brunch donated over 300 books to the Children's Book Bank to bring the gift of reading to kids in our neighboring communities this holiday season!
Warner Pacific College remains committed to creating educational opportunities to students who would otherwise not have the means to attend college. Our philosophy to be "In the City, for the City" compels us to continue to serve our neighbors throughout Portland.
This season, we are thankful for our many blessings and we wish you and your family a very merry Christmas.
