Take a closer look at WPC student internships:
In 2004, WP biological science major Kalen Abbott interned at the Oregon National Primate Research Center, where he helped develop a pilot study investigating the relationship between alcoholism and related nervous behaviors. The following year Abbott worked at the U.S. Olympic Training Center to research the physiology of endurance and strength training.
English major Tyler Caffall and history major Alexandra Kuchler interned with the Artists Repertory Theater in Portland, reputedly the best theater group in the area.
Katey Carpenter, a 2005 business graduate, oversaw retail displays at Intuit—producers of QuickBooks, Turbo Tax and Quicken software.
History major Amanda Lehman assisted with literary productions at the Oregon Historical Society.
Chris Staley, a 2005 social work graduate, worked with the County Sheriff Department in Vancouver, Washington, on a research project examining the county’s declining jail population.
Melanie Jones, a 2003 graduate, helped identify heart defects while studying with scientists at the Oregon Health and Science University.
